Restoring Character in South East London

We’ve just finished a more complex floor restoration job in South East London, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. This one involved not just floor sanding, but also some skilled repair work around an old fireplace.

The original concrete base, where the fireplace once sat, needed a full restoration. We carefully broke out the concrete, added extra support underneath, and then cut and installed reclaimed floorboards to match the surrounding floor. A job like this calls for real precision — and a bit of patience!

Once everything was secured and made good, we sanded the entire floor back to bare wood, filled the gaps to create a tighter finish, and finally applied a rich Jacobean stain for a beautiful, warm tone. To protect it, we sealed it with two coats of Bona Mega lacquer, offering a hardwearing, professional finish.

Now, the floor not only looks seamless, but it feels like it’s always been that way, a perfect blend of old charm and modern craftsmanship.
