Project Spotlight – Engineered Herringbone Floor Repair in South East London

We’ve just completed a precision repair job for a client in South East London, who contacted us about water damage to their engineered herringbone flooring caused by a leak from the air conditioner.

After an initial assessment, we gave two honest options: try sanding the affected area (with no guarantee of what would come through) or carefully replace the damaged sections, if matching boards were available. Luckily, the client had saved a few spare pieces from the original installation, so we went ahead with the replacement route.

This kind of job requires serious attention to detail. We were working with limited materials and couldn’t afford any mistakes. Each damaged board was carefully removed, the subfloor cleaned and prepared, and the replacement pieces re-fitted with precision, all while maintaining the pattern and alignment of the herringbone layout.

It was a meticulous process, but ultimately incredibly satisfying. Seeing the finished result and the client’s smile when they saw their floor restored made it all worthwhile.
