Oil or Lacquer? 🤔
It’s a question we hear frequently, and for good reason. Both finishes protect wooden floors, but they behave very differently.
Here’s what you need to know:
🛢️ Oiled Floors
• Soaks into the wood and gives a natural, matte look
• Needs regular maintenance (re-oiling) to stay protected
• More vulnerable to staining and water damage
• Can be repaired in patches if needed
🛡️ Lacquered Floors
• Sits on top of the wood, creating a strong, protective layer
• Much more resistant to wear, spills, and scratches
• Requires little to no maintenance
• Available in matt, satin, or gloss finishes
At Floor Sanding Enterprise, we almost always recommend lacquer for busy homes, especially in hallways, kitchens or family spaces. It simply offers better long-term protection and keeps your floor looking great with minimal fuss.
