Floor Restoration in Hythe, Kent

We recently completed a beautiful restoration project in Hythe, Kent, after being recommended by one of our previous clients, which is always the best kind of call to receive!

The brief was clear: restore the charm of the original floorboards, including some sensitive areas around two old fireplace hearths. Our first step was to carry out a fireplace re-stitch, where we carefully broke out the old concrete and prepared the space for new boards to blend seamlessly into the rest of the floor.

Once the structural repairs were complete, we turned our attention to gap filling and minor board replacements, making sure the entire surface was secure and even. Then we proceeded with our dust-free, three-stage sanding process to revive the pine boards, smoothing out years of wear and dirt.

The finishing touch was a custom Morrells stain, chosen to enrich the natural tones of the wood while keeping that warm, classic feel. We then sealed the entire floor with three coats of Bona lacquer for a durable and long-lasting finish.

We’re proud to say that the floor now looks stunning, and more importantly, the client is over the moon!
